Default Test Driving - Spoiled by the S

After test driving three S, I tried a BMW 3 series...

Very nice Certified BMW, the first thing that happens is the shifter knob comes clean off in my hand.

Then I keep Redlining the 3 series, and over-reving it ....
Dang am I spoiled.

Heck the 2002 S even spoiled me when I drove the 2004 S !
I want that extra 1k of RPMS!

MAN ... I dont what to do, the S is such an impractical car when your a single dad with 2 kids

I havent found a 2002-2003 in decent shape, for less than $19k ... or I would be driving one already... I just need to take the plunge eh?

They're fun as hell as we all know, but if I were in your situation (depending on financial status) an S2000 would be out of the question considering the children.

Just my opinion.

As far as I can see, there are only 3 children

Two real ones and one big man being happy like a child with the S

And that's very OK!

I have no idea what the avatars are either, but I do think he can find a decent 02 for 19k-ish. The 04's have already taken a big drop.

It just takes dedication, and lots of patience (which I know sucks).

Oh and as to your situation and if the S is for you or not. It's a catch 22. If you buy it, it might not be the most practical car and that downside is obvious. If you don't buy it, it will mock you everytime you drive something else and you will think to yourself "I could be taking this drive in an S2000 right now."

Only you can figure it out. Never neglect your priorities in life (your children) but at the same time as long as your situation allows, don't neglect yourself either.

Sooner or later, you'll be at 9k rpms. =)

If it's to be your 2nd car then I say go get one! Of course the $ may be an issue.
