Hey i am gonna be purchasing a invidia exhaust soon b.c i just love the sound. and i was wondering does the test pipe replace the cat? because i dont want to remove my cats...

would i be able to pass smog tests? and also if i want to stay without replacing my cats how can i eliminate the drone on the invidia exhaust?

You will not be able to pass smog with a test pipe.

you fail any smog check in the states and you'll have to put up with drone

I thought the invidia was a cat back, meaning it goes on after the cat. At least the one I have does not replace the cat.

this is not true...I passed with mine on.most places will pass you if you don't have a CEL.

they just plugged in the OBDII on mine, nothing came up so they passed me.

Use a test pipe until smog check time and then put the cat back on for the test. Very easy to swap

If he doesn't even know that a test pipe replaces the cat he probably doesn't have the mechanical inclination to swap them out for smog tests. I learned what a test pipe was when I was 10.
