It really depends on you personally. I for one don't really mind the smell at all. I'm used to being stuck in rooms running a dyno, burning C16 for 2 hours straight. So a catless car is nothing to me.

Case in point:

John: Your exhaust is loud.
James: Nah man, I'm going to remove the resonator to make it louder.

To some, the smell bothers them, to others, they barely notice it. So, to each his own.

I don't smell my test pipe, not even top down whil stopped at a light. Don't worry about being in traffic, because it's hard to distinguish what car is making a smell when there is stop and go traffic, unless the cop comes outside and sniffs your tail pipes. Then again he'd be an idiot to expect that they wouldn't smell.

I've driven behind my friend, who also has a TP and the smell comes on and off. It'll be there one moment then go away then come back, etc. I'll admit it does smell knid of deisel-ish.

If it smells kind of diesel-ish, then I'll have no problem cause I drove my Jetta Diesel for 5 years and I actually like the smell... lol.

I'll give it shot and if it's a no go for me... then it'll just be up for sale.

Thanks for all the replies everyone... I really appreciate it.

Andre

I have a Berk TP. I'll break down my experience:

1.) The first 3-4 days were pretty strong...very noticeable.
2.) After that, YOU CAN HARDLY NOTICE IT!

It's less than $100 bucks. If you really can't deal with it after a week or two, drop it on the For Sale Forum. Somebody will buy it.

I got a Fix it ticked today for just my license plate while cruising on the 60. I am running a fujitsubo exhaust with an invidia test pipe. I just simply turned off my engine right away and the 5-0 didn't seem to notice the smell

I don't mind the smell either. My ex noticed it once and I basically played dumb... "what? it smells? Oh."

Anti-fouler? Is that to trick the CEL from coming on?

The T1R comes with that also, if I'm not mistaken.

In the summer it kinda smells bad but in the winter, it has a sweet good smell to it...the typical catless smell, and I love it

So no, your not the only one
