M3 - if driven by instructor.
RX7 - if above car was incorrectly described.

Going to Thunderhill this weekend . The last year I was there, the fastest car was a Twin Turbo Porsche...followed by...a surprise to everyone, a mildly Dinan'd (supension only) four door M3! We were all floored.

I'd have to say the NSX.

The people who guessed the RX-7 are the winners.

This car was very well suited for this course. It was cat quick out of the turns and on the short straights. It would get a good jump on the NSK on the longer straights but would lose ground towards the end. When I spoke to him I learned he had 16K into it, 12K car & 4K mods. The NSK keep pace the first few laps but after 6 or so the RX-7 had pulled away by about 3 or 4 corners and by 10 he was at least half a track ahead. The owner of the NSK and the trainers clamed some racing experience but I never asked the owner of the RX-7 if he had any. He did say he had been to this track before. By the end of the day the NSK had made up some ground as he learned the track and his car but in the end the RX-7 kicked ass and took names.

Here is the kicker in all this, he (RX-7) is the only one that drove with a passenger.

Dan

I'm just a lurker on this one, but I am surprised that it wasn't the NSX.

RX 7? What a surprise...I would definitely pick the NSX if we were to guess again...How did the S2000 place?

Guess the Cobra wasn't a "R" model. It might not have made a differance though.
