I was wondering what, if any, the standard immobilizer does to show it is active. 4 cars were stolen from my neighborhood last night, all Hondas, except for my roommates' car, which is a Dodge Neon, which has to make me think they were looking at my car. Perhaps they knew enough not to try to steal it, or maybe they thought it would be too high profile in this area. I didn't notice any signs of an attempt to get in the car, but now that I know the other cars were all Hondas, I'm going to re-check. I'm just thankful that they I didn't have to deal with a mess like that- and I am trying to figure out what was the likely deterrent in the matter. Irony in this situation: my roommate works for the police department and just passed whatever test to be allowed to input stolen vehicle reports, so her first report will be of her own car, I guess.

There have been several threads about S2000s being stolen. If they are lifting them with a truck then the immobilizer won't help much. You should look into a garage although there have been a couple ripped off out of garages that I am aware of.
Make sure your insurance is current and sleep lightly or stay out late.

I don't think that stolen parts for S2000s are in high demand. Not true for cars like the Accord. I would assume that, when an S2000 is stolen, it's for a joy ride.

Is a highway easily accessible from your neighborhood? Fast getaway!

The seats are in very high demand, I bet since this is what they took from my car two weeks ago. You will pobably start to see riced Accords and civics with S2000 seats soon.

I'm glad my car is literally parked 10 feet from my window. At least I have a good shot at the perp if something happens. I hope they like .40 cal hollow points.

FWIW my dog goes bonkers when someone is near my car, so I guess I have 2 things going for me.

i have a similar experience.
someone broke into my car thru rear plastic window and took all the seats.
they can make a good money w/o touching immobilizer things because the seats in s2k are darn expensive.

i've asked service guy if i can have the rear window installed with glass instead of plastic, but the answer is no because the frame folds differently.

insurance guy get me a second-hand seats for the replacement. they look just... used.
i'm still arguing this issue with insurance company.

The other option is of guy's like me who are looking for new S2000 seats or skin's. I don't want stuff that was ripped off i just want the new blue color seats instead of my stock black. Any of you guy's install the other honda security system, the option?? Any comments on that?

I have just the immobilizer and when the key is out of the ignition, a LED on the radio blinks. You can leave it down, but then perp's can see the radio when the car is parked.
