Default Is there a trick to using the top latches?

Absolutely loving my new '08. But when I go to latch the top I often have to mess with it. I engage the hooks, the go to push up the latches and they don't budge. I have to sort of alternate pressure on one side or the other and eventually they ease in. Sometimes they'll pop right in on the first go--can't find a correlation as to what I did differently. Just want to make sure there isn't an issue with the top alignment or something...

Any advice appreciated.

Mine were tight at first, but if they are really hard to pop closed you may want to have the dealer take a look. I think they can be adjusted a bit.

There's a handle in the middle for a reason. Use it. RTFM.

Mine work easily without using the roof handle above the mirror. You may have to guide the hook into place while closing the latch. If it's still binding with this and the center handle, go get it adjusted under warrenty. AFTER, you found the secret compartment and READ the manual.

The only time Ive ever used my handle was after I did a Robbins top replacement and I needed the extra leverage to stretch it so it would close.

But that different that your problem.

And I've never used the secret compartment but that doesn't mean that it wasn't engineered with a purpose.
