Besides the usual "this is the last year for the s2000"; post up some funny things that salesmen have told you at the dealership. Note that this isn't only limited to Honda dealerships or s2000's, so all stories are welcome.

 

Whenever a car salesman opens his/her mouth, something funny comes out. This is going to be a long list.

I wanted a new black S and put a deposit down on one, and had to wait almost a month. Before I made my purchace I wanted a test drive. Alls they had on the lot for the longest time was a MY05. I asked about taking it on a test drive, and a sales person told me that I should wait and test drive an MY06, now this is the funny part, because it had the cool speakers behind the headrest.

I did eventually test drive the 06, I think they were trying to sell the 05 to someone that day, and didn't want it out on a drive, but it was a silly reason.

 

You mean things like:

"You can't find it for less than $5,000 over sticker" just before he and his cronies laid behind the wheels of my car so I couldn't leave?

 

I asked a salesman if they had any si's that I could just look at because I have never seen one "in the flesh" before. The first words out of his mouth were, "The insurance would kill you." Thanks jackass.

 

if a dealer sales persons mouth is moving they're telling a lie.

"the spring spacers were definitely removed during PDI" NOT!!! upon inspection all 14 still in there - and when i pointed them out on vehicle delivery the friggin guy had the audacity to ask me why they were in there to begin with...

 

I went in a couple months before i bought mine to see about test driving one. The guy lets me sit in it, then I ask if can take it for a spin. He says, "you gotta put a non-refundable $2,000 deposit on it before I let you do that." A$$wipe, I shoulda worn a suit.

 

I was in my local honda dealer yesterday and I was sitting in a new SI and the salesman told me "This car has balls, it is the fastest honda out there!" I looked over at the s2000 in the showroom and he told me the S has nothing on the SI, I just laughed and said I own an S2000 and I know different, then he walked off.

 

I actually had a salesperson told me the S2000 came with a turbo
