"Things my dealership told me"

I went into a showroom asking about the difference between the S2000's AP1 and AP2 wings. The next 30 mins was the most shocking moment of my entire life.
His explanation was that they are the same spoiler. It's just that the wing rises automatically after a certain speed like the porsche or crossfire. That was some amazing sh1t to me.

That saleman gets this:
This is one story I just can't pass up...
I went to sit in a Pontiac Solstice just to see what it was about. Very cushy seats, and not much else was special about it. I had told the dealer I was looking at an s2k, and I had heard good things
about the Pontiac, so I wanted to check it out.
I asked the dealer what the price was. He said "Bare bones, this car is $20,000. This one you're in has a $4,000 automatic, and $3,000 worth of other options, plus a $5,000 dealer markup because it's in such high demand. That brings this one up to $32,000. Now how much can you get a new s2k for?"
My mouth was hanging open at this price, and I said "33,000."
Dealer: "See?"
I think he was telling me that it's worth paying 32K for a bare minimum 20K car with 80 less hp and far less overall performance, and less race-inspired EVERYTHING about the car, when I could get a new s2k for only a grand more?

I also stopped by the local Pontiac dealer to look at the Solstice. They did not have one. Salesman told me they were getting $3000 over sticker. I went across the street to the Saturn dealer to look at the Skye and they had both, so I was able to compare. They were asking sticker price for both.
Years ago I was looking at new Civic EX sedans. The salesman walked up and after introducing himself he said "Don't pay attention to the price on the window sticker, that's what we payed for the car."
I was shopping around for a winter car yesterday, and I stopped by the local Ford dealer. I've dealt with them in the past, and these guys for whatever reason tend to be really sleazy. Anyway, I get this guy who has "22 years experience selling cars". I tell him what I'm looking for and why, and he looks at my AP1 and says "what year Porsche is that?" Keep in mind, we're standing right in front of the car, with that huge H emblem staring right back at him.
Sometimes I'm completely dumbfounded by what these car salesmen do all day. I've met one who was extremely knowledgable and tells me he spends his days all over forums and car news site when there are no customers. This is their profession! They must like cars to want to sell cars. How could someone be so oblivious to something they see everyday? If they were just an excellent salesman, they should sell real estate or stock.
