Hey guys. A few months ago, I purchased an 00 S2K with 40k and a clear title for a hair over $20k. Upon registering the vehicle, the title came back as being salvage even though the previous owner claimed it was accident free with a clear title. what is my car worth with a salvage title? I need to get an idea before I sue this guy. Thanks again.

It depends on what reason it got salvaged. But 10k-15k region is about right.

Hope you get your money back

hmm if he said "accident free" he might've been correct. i believe they give salvage titles to stolen and recovered cars too, correct?

I can tell the car has been repainted...but it's a very good job and I can find no signs of any sort of damage to the car at all, electrical or otherwise. Is there anything I need to know before going to court? It was his responsibility to tell me the car was salvage when I asked, right?

Yes it was. I'm surprised the bank cleared the loan.

The title says "rebuilt" actually. The bank prolly wouldn't have cleared the loan, but with my credit being the way it is, I simply told them how much money I needed and signed the paperwork before picking up the check. They never actually put the title against the loan until a few months later.
