Default Thinking about an S2000 for next year...

So the lease on my Boxster is going to expire a year from August. I have been lurking on this board for a while now and probably have one or two posts. I am wondering how people feel about plastic vs glass rear windows? People with rear glass windows from 2002 models, does the top and glass seem to both last okay together? I am going to garage my next car next to my Protege (grocery getter) and we don't get much snow here in New Mexico.

Anyways, I am hoping there's someone on here from Albuquerque who wants to give me a ride in their S2000 sometime. Has anyone bought their cars on here from Autotrader? I can't find any late model S2000s for sale here in town we mostly have 2000 models and I am interested in one with a rear glass window. My previous car was a 2001 Audi S4 so I guess I'm making my way around various drivetrains until I can afford rear engine rear wheel drive. Should I hunt down a 2003 next year? I am looking to spend $25K tops (recovering from buying my house and want a car with lower payments). Thanks in advance.

I wanted an 02 or 03' because of the glass rear window. I'd much rather have that. But I got a good deal on my 01' Silverstone with Red/Black interior, spoiler and low mileage (yes, I found it on Autotrader - owned by an older couple).

I love the car, but I almost traded it in for an 02' with less mileage and the glass rear window. But mine was in much better shape and it was not worth making the trade, even though the price was good on the 02'. It also had too many scratches and other little things that deterred me.

I have managed to keep my rear plastic window in good shape with some of that convertible cleaner. But, glass with a defroster would be much nicer!

There is more to the 02+ than the window. Do a search. Engine and transmission has light changes for better reliability.

The only problem with my 02 was the drivers side window not going all the way down when dropping the top. This was fixed under warrenty. Good luck with your car shopping.
