Give this a good think to be sure about your position. IMO, if you have the means and the space, having two cars is great. But, it's definitely a pain to keep two cars, insurance, etc...

Here in Massachusetts, I have an old truck that I drive in crappy days in the winter. That's really it's primary job. Actually, I enjoy driving the truck, but the truth is it makes me appreciate the S more.

That said, this is totally a personal thing. If you want to put all your attention and money into ONE ride, then I totally agree with your position. Just be sure.

haha thanks for the input but everyones making it sound like im a taxi driver and that was just an example of how the car is not practical. Another reason is the fact that an AWD turbo sedan sounds more fun than a 2 seater RWD..or is just me?

If you want an Evo, get an Evo, or just convince one of you friends to do the driving. Also look at STI and RX8. Heck,if you're really looking for a 4 door, take a look at the Pontiac Gran Prix GXP, that will get you up into the 300hp range and still be pretty comfortable for 4 adults.

Sounds like you know what you want to do. There's no single right answer, so go with what you want.

Do what is right for you.

+1 on the get a beater car.
-1 on selling the s2000.
i use mine as a DD, also a college student.
solution? be anti-social, and dont make friend. that way you dont have to worry about double tripping to drop them off and you'll have more money for mods!!! problem solved!

Completely disagree, but that's just me. It's a personal choice.

As far as being fun to drive, I haven't driven anything under $80,000 that is more fun. Throw in the fact that it's a convertible and it's almost unbeatable as far as the fun factor is concerned. However, if you like a car that you can drop the kids off at school in and smoke a Porsche on the way home, the Evo is a better choice. Just be warned that you will get raped when trading a car in. I tried to trade my car in (MY00, 39k miles, super clean) and was offered $14,000 by the dealership. Instead I'm selling it to a friend on Monday for $17,500. Why am I selling it? The only thing that beats the fun factor of the S is a shiny new CBR1000RR :-)
