Hey, been in the midst of 80-90hr work weeks, but I'm still open for ideas from people on a good meet location in the Triangle area, the dealer sites don't look to be too good.

BTW, while out at lunch, I pulled up next a red s2k with the top down and had a quick chat, the driver was familiar with this site and Rick's stuff

Hey Guys! I've some how missed the post over the last few months. Anway, I live in Raleigh/work in RTP. I'm definitely up for a get together anytime. I tried to solicit interest for a convoy to the S2K Days in Asheville, but nobody responded to my post. (well, a few from Charlotte did). I believe I met 'stbrnd' there.

If your going to do an event at a Honda Dealership, I would say go for Leith or AutoPark. Crown Honda in Chapel Hill are a bunch of crooks. Actually, Carlonia people all. (Sorry, I got off topic, I'm a NC State Grad - had to get a jab in!) Whew, as I was saying... After getting on the list at Leith, I continually called around to to Crown and AutoPark to see if they had any. I got calls from Crown salesman three times indicating they had cars! At first, I couldn't understand how such a small dealership were getting so many S2000s. Leith gets 4 times more S2000s/year than Crown.
Not to mention they were asking $40 Grand! Maybe in Cali, definitely not here. Basically, what they were doing was selling the car to a wholesaler who would then sell it back to them. Now that it's a used car, they could sell it way over MSRP without Honda North America breathing down their backs.

I remember seeing a post about a week ago about a get together in the DC area sometime in August. The last I heard, it was tentatively planned for 8/11. ... thought I'd bring that up too!

Some friends of mine had talked about going back to Asheville for another romp around the area. I definitely want to head back to the Dragon.

Let me know what I could do to help. I'm sure any dealership would be happy to provide some kind of place for an event in the area. Big time publicity for them. Again, Leith is by far the largest dealer so I would definitely try them first.

I'm in for a RDU meet, as my parents live in Durham.

Yup, the No.VA/DC meet will be 8/11 probably in the Herndon/Reston area near Dulles airport. Hope some of you guys can make it!

I did meet a couple of NC people at Ashville. I was a bit surprised not to see more. It was a great opportunity to compare notes, mods, stories, and listen to the sound of 90+ S2ks revving through the streets of some small mountain towns on the parkway run. If you think you get looked at when you drive by alone... It kind of looked like in the movies when the whole family comes out to see something. It was fun.

I could certainly stand to go back to Ashville or Boone. Somewhere in the mountains. Its just too hot for long touring otherwise. Up there is alot cooler. Just have to watch out for all the S. Floridians!! Cant vote in the winter, cant drive in the summer esp in the mountains.

DC trip is just too far away for when I could get off to go.

I wouldnt worry about these dealerships not being cooperative. After all, what do WE need with a new S2K? They probably do see whats in it for them. Maybe if we could get some media coverage for them they would do anything you asked. Anybody have a contact with the local TV/ Newpaper??? Just a thought.

First thing is to set a tenative date, then we can all try to plan something. Cant wait much longer if we are going to get a hotel or something to work with us at all. No matter where we have an event, we will need accom. and security for the cars. Just gotta have that. Its not that expensive usually.

Anybody got a favorite date?
