I checked mine today. Its dead like yours. But, I have a Viper alarm system that probably killed it. I last started it around Christmas time. I have an 03 with 5K on it. I'll probably just jump start it or put one of those portable units to start it next month. Since its really sleeping now, I'll just wait for the nice weather!

My stock Civic battery lasted 6 yrs so not all stock batteries are cheap ! I believe it to be a matter of luck!
While we are on the subject has anybody tried that HAWKER battery that you can get thru S2ki marketplace??

just some random info on batteries i own. Going on 8 years on an optima red that started out as the 2nd battery in my early bronco 4X4 then went into a jeep, now its in a 2 battery setup in my boat never gets used in the winter and for the last 5 seasons starts up right away w/o any charging. of course its pretty warm here in cali! also my motorcycle battery in my BMW bike is now in its 6th year bought the bike new in 5/1998.
my s2k is almost 2 years old so far so good.

Yeah, the Optima reds seem to do well also. I might have opted for an Optima red in my S2k, but I don't think that there is a size that will fit the S2k. As far as I know, the only type 51 battery that Optima makes is the Yellow top.

Don't know what is killing the battery, but my 2002 had a problem and the battery was replaced as warranty since it was less that 2 years old. Prorated after that. Don't know why anyone is "buying" a battery. Have the dealer check it and replace it if it needs it.
