Mine was bad before the fix-- I could reproduce it in sub-50 degree weather after only 10 minutes of driving. Since the fix, it's only happened once, and that was probably my fault. Overall, I'm very happy with both the new clutch and the 1-2 grind fix.

Are these '00 and '01 models? I know this has been discussed before, but it was originally thought that the grind problem only existed in the '00 models, come to find out, the '01 models simply weren't old enough to demonstrate the symptoms... Am I dreaming this? Mine is on '01 and has grinded about a dozen times. Every time it happens, I assume it was because of a lazy foot, but now am wondering if more is going on...

I live in Canada and the recall hasn't come out here and I experience the 1-2 grind and that annoying deceleration noise, what should I do everything I tell them they say is normal.

I had my 1-2 grind fixed along with the decellereation noise, and my results were awesome! I think based on talking to several others in my area, some dealers have done a better job than others, and a few have had to go elsewhere to get it fixed again. My S2k now purrs and shifts incredibly smoothly with no grind since getting it donw. (the slight knotchiness of our shift gate aside of course)
If you car grinds on a semi regular basis, I say get it fixed. Its like driving a new car! While its only supposed to affect MY2000 cars, I thik it is possible that some MY2001 cars may have the same parts.

Fix it. It won't get any better, only worse. It dosen't seem to be model year related, it ruins any drive and because of how otherwise perfect the car is it stands out like a sore thumb. My $.02.

I'm convinced, I'm taking it in right now... although I'm a little disapointed. I'm not sure how I will manage without my baby for more than a day!

Although I don't have "the Grind", last night I did notice the noise when decellerating between 4k and 3k. (kind of a rattle). Should I even bother with taking the car in just for that? What do they do?
