with the way the exchange rate currently is, you should consider finding one in the US and importing it

I would enjoy putting in new parts and fixing something so i should have added that would be more of a bonus..

Ordering parts from USA is no problem, as long as they ship to AUS its all good! I frequently order motorcycle parts from the states and have them shipped to my place within the week no problems. Shipping is expensive, but the cost of parts makes the steep shipping price's still acceptable!

The issue with a USA import, is you guys are left hand drive. We are Right hand drive over here. Bugger

Tempting...but all the fee's and duties in aus i think pretty much destroy any chance of me ever importing one

Then i think there would be insurance issues as well.

Plus the conversion would have to be done.

How hard was it to fix the worn side bolsters? I assume your talking about the leather on the seats right? lol?

I personally would never do that. I don't think it's worth the extra money and headache!

I think it depends on your income level and amount of free time. Fixing up an average/poor condition s2000 will be more rewarding in the end.

Some things are better left to the pros. Paint and body work are one of them.

people here have right side drive cars, there is no mandate that the car Must be left drive , at least not here. You might be surprised on the cost to import, i would check. I worked at a dealership and exported a few cars several years ago and sent 2 VW Touaregs to Germany because the cost to buy, ship and the tax costs still came out cheaper than the person buying 2 in Germany. Same with 2 Honda Odyssey minivans in Canada and an S2000 in Canada
