Default throttle body

Hi guys,
I do not know anything about tuning so I really need ur guys' help. I have read a lot of threads about itb. And end up, it might be too expensive for me as for the tuning part i mean. So If i dont go with itb. Just change to a aftermarket maybe skunk2 bigger throttle body, does it make any difference???

It will make a difference, but you will need to port match the intake manifold to get gains from it.

I would not do it yourself unless you really know what your doing. You will have to modify the butterflies so they still seal the throttle body when you are not on the throttle.

I would go with a big bore OEM throttle body (unless you want to go really large bore) if it were me so it looked stock and then have the Intake Manifold ported so the openings are the same size on both parts (some say a tapered design increases velocity, but I am not to sure about that) and then you will want to shave the gasket to the same size too. Basically trying to eliminate any bottlenecks in the intake tract .

I would keep it looking stock due to the CARB, I have to deal with in So. Cal.

If you replace your TB you will see some very minor gains wo doing anything to your intake manifold, however to get the full affect you cou8ld either have the IM ported or purchase a new one. The biggest thing you will get from a TB will be better thottel response even if you don't port . I purchased a Skunk2 large TB & kept my OEM so that if I want to go back stock I can.

Have you put an intake on yet? That should be where you start. From there you can go to the TB than the intake manifold. You can do it in stages so that you don't run out of money.

PM me if you have any other questions.
