Default Is this an Ti shift knob?

Ok so I got this shift knob as an option when I got the car. I'm trying to sell it and I want to assure my buyer that its the stock Ti shift knob that Honda offers as an option and not an aluminum knob. Compared to my voodoo spun aluminum from Rick's the this knob is so much heavier. You would think the voodoo is heavier since it's round. I have all reason to believe its Ti unless Honda ripped me off and makes an aluminum knob thats looks exactly like the Ti knob they offer as an option.

Picture can be tough to tell. A scale is the BEST way to know what material the knob is made of.

You say it's heavy, seems to be brownish in color, and there are no scratches on it;chances are it's TI.!!!

Duh... you have an '05. '05's didn't come with the all aluminium shifter, only MY '00 and '01's did.... like mine. If it were the stock aluminium '05 knob it would have leather around it.....

Stock '05 knob:

... this buyer, he wouldn't happen to drive a B2000 not a S2000 would he??

Put it in the car. If it matches the radio door, than it is aluminum. If it is a warmer color and about 2 shades darker than the radio door, than it is the Ti knob. I , too, was surprised at the weight of the Ti knob. But, if it passes the metal color test, I would feel confident telling your buyer it is the real deal. Not too scientific, but seems to make sense to me.

It is very difficult to decern the difference by looking at them. The titanium one is heavier and weighs 10 oz. Do you have access to a scale?

Yes, the 2005 model comes with a leather wrapped shift knob stock as you show. However, you can get the all metal knob as a dealer option. The first post in this thread says the knob was purchased as an option from the dealer. I would say "duh" to you, but I would never say that to another person.
