I'll take an advantage of the fact that this old thread has been revitalized.

I was actually looking this thread and others like it because I too was intrigued by this free mod.
I wanted to pair this mod with the coolant bypass after installing my password Jdm intake.

I only tightened my cable a hair or so..there's still some slack, but not as much as before.

Because of the other aforementioned mods, I didn't realize any response from this procedure

There was an official document from Honda specifically for the S 2000 about how some came from the factory with a loose throttle cable. I cannot find this document anywhere and I used to be able to, does anyone have it?

Don't have the document but it is easy enough to check if yours is lose (either from factory or simply from ware over time). I recently adjusted mine (50K miles on the car). The difference is night and day. Down shifting is a joy and rev matching has become almost 100% perfect. Highly recommend doing it.

+1 to everything you just said. I recently adjusted my cable as well and the car drives so much better now! Heel-and-toe downshifting has become a breeze.
