The last year the prelude was made was 2001.
And that year units were down under 10,000 per year....

Don't think alotta people buy sporty 2-seater roadsters right before winter....
But since the numbers are compared to LAST YEAR'S figures.... and sales were DOWN from 556 last year to 464 this year.

THIS MEANS THE 2004 "CHANGES" DID NOT KEEP SALES FROM CONTINUING TO SLIP....

Supporting the notion that it wasn't a "major" upgrade as much as it was an effort to eek out the last bit of remaining market.... before.... ?????

I wouldn't be surprised if 2005 or most likely 2006 will be the last years for the S2000.

And you know what? I'll be happy when it happens. Our beloved S will be an instant classic.

I hope Honda doesn't drag out the S2000's life span like the NSX. Leave on top.

Wonder how many S2000s they'll actually make this year. By estimation, this will be the worst sales year since 2000.

3400-->6797-->9682-->9684-->7888-->7334 (for this year estimated)
1999-->2000-->2001-->2002-->2003-->2004

Looking at those numbers. I don't see how it can make it to 2006.
Maybe they'll only produce 5000 for 2005 and try to clear out the inventory?

I love my S2000, it's a car that wasn't made for the masses... but it fits me and my personality perfectly!

all roadster sales are down but it would make financial sense. toyota did it already with the mr2 and looking to concentrate on the suv's. honda will probably do the same if they are smart. money is in suv's.

Not sure about the US. But there is definitely a 06YM for Europe. (minor changes)

They didn't make a new plant for the S2000... they actually closed the plant that only made NSX and S2000 and started making the S2000 along with Civics at a current plant.
Thanks for the correct info.
