Default Timing Chain Tensioner

So I replaced my timing chain tensioner about 3k miles ago (was making that horrid sound) and everything has been good. But about 100miles ago I started to notice the noise again at startup. This was how the old one was...at first it was only at startup you could hear it then it just got progressively worse... wtf is up with these things? anyone else have this problem?

You sure you installed it correctly? I mean I heard about them going bad again fairly quickly, but this is pretty quick. Did mine about 7000 miles ago, no problems (matter in fact, I think I didn't even need to do it... anyway).
Btw, I think this should be in the UTH forum.

Some speculation I have heard is that if your oil gets low, it can cause it to start acting up again prematurely. The unit operates on oil pressure.
I changed mine about 2k miles ago, no problems yet. 46k on the clock now.

Hrm...that is weird, did you pull the pin before you put in and did you do the other method of pulling the pin and then installing it?
I dunno, just searchign for a reason besides what seems to be a defective part... got an oil change done with mobil 1 and my engine is purring, forgot how quiet the engine could be, lol <knocks on wood>.
