Default Tire Noise??????

I have narrowed down my car noise to being within the tires (I believe). I just had an alignment done to the car (from the spec sheet he showed me everything is within spec), and a couple of days after I started to get this sound (wha, wha, wha, wha) I couldn

I will ask around. Does it change with the speed you are going? If so it could be a flat spot on one or more of the tires. Was that checked?

I only notice tire noise on the freeway, and even there it's pavement dependent. A direct concrete surface is the worst, while some asphalt oversurface they applied recently is pretty quiet. The asphalt also throws up less water in the rain, if that helps you characterize what it is.

i have the same problem. noise is only apparant at 40-45 mph, before and after that it is quiet. i had the tires re-balanced and its still there. its just something i have to live with. in general most sport tires(in our case the s02's) are noisy by nature.

My tire had a bubble in it. We jacked up the car to get the wheel free-spinning. It was apparent that a bubble in the tire that protruded beyond the normal depth of the tread was causing the problem. Just spin the wheel and stare at one point in the wheel-well. You notice the tire moving up and down as it rotates - flat spot or bubble.
