Strange noise..
I have a MY00 with 6,700 miles on it and the original tires. When I start out in the morning after not driving the car, the tires feel out of round. I've been down that path before with another car -- let it warm up and it goes away. Same situation here -- the "out of round" feeling (kind of like an out of balance tire) goes away, but then there's a strange noise.
I get a "wah, wah, wah, wah" noise that I think is coming from the rear. It's very faint and is speed dependent. It doesn't seem to get any lounder if I swerve from side to side sharply. I have changed the tranny and diff fluid on my own in the last 800 miles.
The tires doesn't show any odd wear, but they are over half worn at this point. It's just started in the last 800 miles since I bought it.
Does it sound like an out of round tire, cupped tire, etc? With the low mileage, I kind of wonder if the fact it sat most of it's life created a flat spot that won't go away.
Anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks!

THanks for the input. I looked and all the weights are still there and the car is smooth all the way up to 90mph -- haven't pushed it past that. It just isn't perfectly smooth for the first 5 miles after the car has sat for a while...I think it's simple flat spotting that goes away when the tires warm up.
If I am reading this correctly, you have a 7-8 year old car with 6700 miles. So its been sitting A LOT. Could be a simple case of square tires due to sitting so much. Just get new tires, I don't think there is anything you can do.
I would agree that the car is aged with low miles=it sat for a while.
My question is that I wonder why it just started in the last 800 miles.
I did go out and drop the air pressure from 36psi to 32. It made a decent difference, but it's still there a bit. I definately can live with it. I don't want to replace the tires--the still have another 5k on the rear and who knows on the front -- they look new!
