It just takes a little patience and the willingness to not compromise. I don't buy anything made there unless there are absolutely no alternatives at any price.

ETA: The majority of Goodyear's tires are made here in the US and are marked as such.

It will not matter where the tires are made,if the chinese prices go up then all the rest will follow. If you think the rest will not go up your crazy.

Goodyear is like the Ford of tires. I'll take the Chinese ones instead.

For cheap, low-end tires, yeah, the prices will go up.

I seriously doubt the tires most of us consider (Dunlop *Spec, B'stone RE11, Yoko AD08, B'stone RE050 Pole Position, PS2, etc.) are going to be affected. Hell, the Dunlop's Star Spec being ~$60 cheaper than RE11 hasn't brought RE11 prices down.

Much better to whack Chinese tires with tarriffs NOW, while they're still very much bottom-end, than later when they're up with the big boys.

IMO, it's a good move all around, as it will discourage people from buying cheap, crap tires.

i think that if you look at the specs page for a tire on the tire rack it tells you country of origin. and my tires are USA made... although i found a barcode on my arse the other day and under it it said made in china, so idk whats going on there??
