Tire question...
I know this thread's been done a million times before, but, I have a couple questions about the tires...
1. What kind of mileage are you getting on the stock S02's? Pole Positions? Any tires that have a normal 50K life for this car?
2. For cold driving, what kind of tires are some of you switching to? Blizzaks? Alpins? What do you like/not like about those tires?

It's a fact of life that softer rubber will give better handling characteristics but wear out much quicker. You have to decide how the car will be used and base your tire decision on that. You will notice a significant handling decrease with any tire that gives this car 50K. I live in an area with significant rainfall and eventually will replace the OEM SO2s with Pole Position SO2s. The PPs handle better in the wet throughout the life of the tire with only a small decrease in dry handling.
hehe - S02s wearing quickly :-) I'm here thinking how 'long lasting' the S02s are ... Before I switched to S02s on my old car (from S01s) I used to get about 18k km with them. With the S02s I was getting 25k km ... remember this is not on the S2000 (I have not gone though the tyres so I can't comment), but on my previous car they had good 30% more life than other 'performance' tyres that I've tried.
If I can get 25k km from the S02s on the S2000 then I'll be pretty impressed. I'm hoping that the front ones will last more like 35k km.

When I had my last oil change at the dealer about 3 weeks ago, a friend of mine working in the parts department was looking at the tread wear on my car while it was up in the air. He laughed and said someone had brought an S2000 in for new tires after only 8,000 miles!
No telling how the guy was driving it though.

! It was so nice taking the twisties every day near the limit, I wore them out quite fast. I learned my lesson and the A032Rs lasted twice as long.
