Come-on do the 9V battery trick and post pictures. You could basically dip the top in coke and get a perfect edge to the blueing. There's no way you're doing this at home otherwise.

best way to do it is put a 10x1.5 mm bolt on a drill press, thread the knob on and torch it while it's spinning. you'll have a more even distribution of heat in a sense that no one part will be darker than another.

I attempted this tonight. I did not have any aligator clips, so i took some copper wiring and wrapped it around the battery terminals using duct tape to hold it there. I then dipped it into the coke. Only 1 of the batteries worked and it turned it a very very slight yellow. I am thinking about fine sanding the shift knob and then re-trying it with real alligator clips. I'll let ya'll know how it goes.

listen to iam7head. i took it to a shop, lol they had no idea what they were doing. they torched it, it turned gold bronze. luckily they did it for free.

I just tried using a propane torch. It turned out perfect the first time until my girlfriend said it looked weird having 3 different colors (gold, purple, and blue). So I did it again and it lost all of its colors.

Does Titanium lose its color if you torch it too much???

i'd like to know as well....my spoon knob titanium color has faded too >=(

the drill press trick sounds like it should work nicely.
