Let's end the nomenclature confusion (please):

BOOT COVER: Hard or soft, it covers the retracted convertible top and window well area.

TONNEAU COVER: Flat cover that covers the ENTIRE top-down cockpit, and has center zipper as Luder94 explained.

I've been a roadster enthusiast for many years and it seems that some people here are mistakenly referring to the boot covers as tonneau covers.

I think Luder94s approach to this is the best. Unless you live in a place where it never rains, it's always warm, and you have a trailer to put the thing in if yoy have to take it off when you're far from home, the one peice fiberlgass approach is completely impractical. Looks great on a show car, but not good for much else.

Luder's plan to make an intrelocking assembly that can be stashed in the top well (over the Muz mat when the top is up is a great solution and I hope he's successful in building it. I'd buy one in a minute and cover it with red leather!

Look at the fit at the edges of this boot cover. . .is this standard with alot of owners who use their boot covers?

The handful of times I've used mine, there hasn't been a fit issue like this. Even the S2K at the Chicago Auto show had this problem, I tried pushing the u-joints in to keep the cover down, but they popped right out.

When I push the edges down on mine they pretty much stay there. I think on the picture they just didn't tuck everything in to place
