Cool you were able to carfax it, Hawkstrike. For what limited value a carfax may have, at least it seems to check out somewhat. That Michigan report seems kind of strange but at least someone could ask him what that's all about now. The weirdest thing to me is that the car's still around. I would think that ad would have made it to every Civic board on the web by now. If it's truely legit, I can't believe someone didn't snatch it up days ago. I'm really curious now just what is going on with this thing.

That is the typical scam response.

This is not the 'real' deal.

Sounds and smells like a scam. I bet he'll ask for pay by western union and he'll pay for shipping scam. Email him back and see if you can go see the car. I bet he'll say he's out of the country on business or something like that.

If it is the "real" deal I hate you! I just bought my MY03 w/ 9K miles for ~24K. If it was a real deal I would be all over it!

Could be some rich guy just trying to get rid of the car and doesn't care to much about the money. Why don't you call him up and ask for a test drive.
This is a huge misconception; most well-to-do people DO care about their finances.

I read a great book called the 'Millionaire Next Door' which highlights the attributes of wealthy people.

This is almost certainly a salvaged car. Title laundry happens often, the most common way this is done is by shipping across state lines. This has happened not one but twice. One within the past week. Seller in georgia, car in NY last tittled in Mich? You're buying a salavage titled car, probably flooded. Consider that when evaluating this as a 'deal'.
