Top down pedal to floor
I dont think their bitter. I did find it odd that my age needed to be known. Its no big deal but this is the www you never know who your dealing with.
The car does have upgraded aftermarket brake rotors and pads.
The cooling in So CA is an issue it may help in stop and go traffic on a hot day. And I do plan to track the car at some point. Point taken money may will be better spent in other places. Bro.
Kinda was waiting for the doomers to come out and say dont redline the car.

We are not bitter I assure you. The general concept of this post seemed to be a typical s2000 experience, we love getting into the power band and enjoying the car to its fullest, it just seemed sort of random, not dogging the post any further but it seemed almost trivial or as though something that was more of a ramble than anything else. Regardless, as long as you're enjoying your s2. You have lived up to the expectations Honda built into the car. They put 9k on it for a reason. Enjoy it.
Screw em', bro. Drive it just like you have been -- like it is meant to be driven. This care lives to run at 5-6-7000 and more regularly. Shift at 4K?? What are you guys hypermiling? Maybe if you are just tooling down the boulevard.
And who are these people babbling incoherently about boost? Did I miss something in the thread or was it edited out?

I tend to babble/ramble. The post is what it is posted it after a great drive in the s. If you are unhappy with the topic/thread why even bother. Thanks for feedback good or bad.
Yea I was confused on the boost topic also but I think he is saying is: with boost you make plenty of power at 4k. Thus not having to redline car. Had to read it a few times and I still may have missed it.
Thanks people I am enjoying the s.

"S2000 Talk: Discussions related to the S2000, its ownership and enthusiasm for it."
You didn't ask a bunch of technical questions (Under the Hood), didn't get into heavy modifications-related discussions (Parts and Modifications), didn't discuss if it should be legal in your chosen location to carry concealed weapons in your secret compartment (Politics), didn't ask where your nearest dealer is (regional), and didn't post pics of your favorite beer (Off-topic). And you never even mentioned cats.

^Yea if I could afford a turbo I might do that. But I think its fine without turbo plenty of fun.
Not sure about 4k shift point you speak of must be oem manual. Sure at times I drive mellow depending on conditions of traffic and road or who is with me. I dont want tickets either. I'm just saying once the car is good and warm and road permits I let it rip quite often. My s is stock pretty much and if its not in vetc not much going on. As I stated would like to drop vtec lower. I honestly have too much fun driving this car I should grow up but thats not going to happen.
The turbos that are CA CARB legal and thats only one that I know of I dont like the engineering of it.
Would lean supercharger.
Stock ap1 Vtec is around 5800 BNB So that 4k shift point?? And the s has no torque to speak of so you lost me sorry.

I'm sorry, the 4K shiftpoint is just the recommended minimum for an off-VTEC casual drive. the point of it is that below 4K the synchronizers in the gears aren't accelerated well enough to make for a smooth shift, and may even wear the synchronizers faster. for me personally, i shift gears just past 3K when driving conservatively (like i do in my DD). regarding torque, it should be noted that the VTEC arrangement allows the S' engine to have two sets of camshafts (a low rev-range and a high rev-range), and gives the S a torque level comparable to if not better than a non-VTEC engine of the same displacement (overheaad-cam). for torque levels higher than that, i might note that smaller turbos have quick spool-up, reportedly as early as 2.5K, and capable of 400+hp. on the other hand, a centrifugal (as opposed to positive-displacement) supercharger delivers its power at higher revs and don't help low-rev torque.....enjoy the exuberance of 6K VTEC engagement all the way to the 9K mechanical ideal (such a wonderful experience, eh?)---until you get used to the gem of it, or until you want gobs of torque along with it (hp = RPM x torque / 5252). can you spell quick-spool cheap turbo? JK.
^Yea I agree with you. And the crusing shift point lets just say below vtec is ehh I have to double clutch to keep third smooth. Part of the reason the na s does not feel right to me unless driving in vtec range or double clutching when I want to cruise.
I understand the technical engineering parts of the motor and turbo theory. Hope someday to be able to add FI but still working on getting aem ems.

the 4K shiftpoint is a minimum for casual driving, the point of which being that below 4K the synchronizers in the gears aren't accelerated well enough for a smooth shift. my F20 has a 6K engagement-point, and only at WOT. my street-driving obviously is so conservative i have a 4K shiftpoint (some even lower), but my WOT VTEC range i'd reserve for the track or in cop-free streets/roads---yup, some cops in my area are peeved by the S. the other point is i'd like to preserve my S, and for that i have a spare tranny and shortblock tho not yet but am looking for, a diff, which i'm told is the first to go bad. aww. but no mistake about it---i enjoy my S immensely and am grateful for it.
Just read like something a 16 year old would write.
While the car can take what you're doing to it, few motors like to see red line regularly without it causing additional wear. It typically doesn't show up right away, but will start to appear in the form of oil consumption and dirty exhaust. It's blow by and a sign rings are going.
As others have mentioned. Check your oil, run good oil and enjoy. Worst case you rebuild the motor
