top install

Default top install

Hey,
i just bought an 04 top with cage and motors to put on my 01. i have the PDF to replace the 02 cloth on an 01 frame, btu does anyone have a diy for the full cage and motors? Thanks

Wouldn't it be easier (and cheaper) just to follow the directions to put the new top on the old frame rather than replacing both? I know that the guys who've removed their soft top completely in favor of a hard top have to cut something out of the car and re-weld it if they want the soft top assembly reinstalled. I would imagine this would be part of the process to switch from the older soft top assembly to the new one.

if by "cage" you mean the frame then your swap is going to actually be easier than most.

its basically the same as the install you read.

remove the interior parts, remove the rain rails, and then instead of removing the top from the frame you unbolt the yellow bolts on each side holding the frame n place and swap the whole deal over in reverse.

Thanks guys, All done with only minor problems. Nothing that wasn't easily fixed.
