What speed does the MY04 top out at and what speed does the MY03 top out at?

 

In almost every test I have seen averaged for wind and road grade the earlier models did 146 mph. I was actually amazed at how consistent the number seems to be in most tests. The 04 seems to do about 149. I saw one 03 test at 148 so not much difference. When you get up to those speeds on a high drag car like the S2000 it takes a lot of power to add speed. One car mag took a specially prepped car with a lot of internal engine work to the Salt Flats and only managed 156 MPH.

 

when i was stock, i hit 151. that was with a slight incline to my disadvantage on I-10 on my way back from albequque. i was coming up on a hill and was worried there was a cop on the other side so i slowed. if i had gunned it down the other side of the hill, i think i could have topped off at about 160. and if memory serves, you'll top out in 6th at 164 or 166 with a stock set up.

now that i'm FI, i've gone up to 131 without really pushing the car all that hard. so 151 would be easy to beat.

 

is it really that fast?

 

from what i have read on this forum the top speed differs in every car but is in a general area, because the motors are handmade, some motors are "stronger" than others and can bring more top speed

 

I dont think it be too hard to hit 150+ with s2k
i havent tried it or anything but with my ITR i hit 150, but it wasnt stock either.

 

I hit 162 MPH (and got scared, plenty of RPMs left). I did it on US-27 (Holy Lands).

I have a PRM Intake, that's all.

 

i have done 141mph in my s2000 on I-20 in dallas. that was with the top down.

 

i've heard of an 00' that a friend took to 153 top down.... not sure how much that helps you out though.

 

I've hit 260kmh (161.5mph) on the Autobahn and there was really nothing left.

Dunno what the speedo error was at those conditions, the official top speed of my car in the registration is 240kmh (149mph).
