lol i could admit to #3, but the rest i swear at my 151 mph is truthful. i was talking to my wife about it last night since she was with me when i did it (i was on I-10 and she was sleeping til i hit about 130). in any case, she thought she remembers i topped out at 157. adrenaline was going. i was a little pumped so details are a bit hazy.

if i wasn't so lazy, i'd adjust my yellow box before i change out my gears to get a more accurate reading and see how she feels topped out with my sc. but again, i rescend to my lazy ways.

Right on.

To get the kind of top speeds many in here claim, you would need well over 300 HP, and a car that was not as aerodynamic as a brick.

It was tried at Bonneville with a fairly heavily modified S2000 and I think they hit around 156 MPH.

First off, I'm hoping all those who have actually attempted top speed tests have done so on a closed course track? Maybe it's self-evident, but doing that kind of speed on any public road is simply asking for sudden death/license revocation, whichever comes first.

And as others have accurately stated, if you're looking at your digital speedometer in the car and saying you "reached 150," you're completely off. The speedometer error increases as your speed increases, so you may have been going 135 if the speedo said 150, possibly less. The only way to know exactly how fast you were going is to have a GPS unit measuring your speed. Any other means of speed measurement is bogus.

They won't be using the car's speedo. I've seen them use radar guns and also those data loggers that hook up to an outside sensor strapped onto the car. This sensor points down at the ground to detect movement.

Cool day for Florida with no humidity...163 thru the sugar fields 80W. Couldn't get the rpm's as car was somewhat edgy, but they were high at that speed and didn't want to look away for more than I had too. Wouldn't do it again. Scarey, man, scarey.
