that can't be right! 151mph top speed. AP1 doesn't hit the rev limiter until about 165-170mph.....
It just a simple answer, don't take it so complicated.
He ask, i answered. that's that

The car simply doesn't have the power to go any faster than about 150.
OK, I was on a Little Hill in Da Smokies
but I had 200lbs of extra crap in Da Trunk.

carlos: you blew my cover, thanks!

doing great! sold the IS last month and picked up an S2K the following day. i thought i wouldn't miss a high revving motor but i was wrong. the IS was fun to drive in the twisties but it was a little boring to cruise in. you still have the celica? man, you get around the boards!

Remember my other statement? ....................................
On a straight and level road, with no wind, the average S2000 has enough power to propel itself to about 150 mph. This has been quite evident as witnessed by many AP1 cars that are geared for around 165 mph. The car simply doesn't have the power to go any faster than about 150. Those who have, have been going downhill or have the wind at their backs or a bit of both.
i can't believe it! if the chart below is accurate then i'm somewhat dissappointed with the AP2 gearing. 3rd gear 79mph@8200rpms and 4th gear 101@8200. that's far off from 3rd@91mph and 4th@118mph with the AP1. cars like the S2k, celica gts, itr, rsx were already sprinters, with this gearing it makes it even more so. plus the shorter powerband of 6000-8200 vs 6000-9100 there's even less fun.

We can argue over whether the "Primary Gear Reduction" is 1.206 [ Turn Zero] or 1.208 [Two Honda Publications] and whether the "6th Gear Transmission Ratio" is 0.765 [Turn Zero] or 0.763 [Two Honda Publications]. Unless you're a real fanatic those differences are negligible.
Check it out for yourself. See URL below.

Of course, your comment that the celica GTS, ITR, RSX, and S2k being sprinters removes all doubt about your intelligence or lack thereof.
