Top Speed on the s2000
I have had my Silverstone for about 9 months and still have not taken it to the limit. I have read that the top speed is 150 and is electronically controlled. The most I have done is 118 in 4th gear.
Can anyone tell me what to expect in 6th? If it is electronically limited at 150, does anyone know how to override the controls?

Definitely not electronically limited to 150, and capable of at least that (indicated) with the top up on flat ground.
The real answer to this question is Turbo Dave's video. He da man.

150 is definitely not the limit and is not electronically controlled.
i have gone over 155 and it doesnt cut out at all.
why not go on the highway and do a test run yourself.
then you will see if it will cut at 150 or not.

I think it's 157. But you can get it a lil higher if you screw around with the ECU. You need a hell of a lot of road remember. It pulls real fast till around 130, Then in 6 gear pulls real slow. At that speed every mph takes a second or so. Great feeling though.
Damn, that is a lot of highway. I was thinking 1 mile...2 tops. I guess I will have to invest in a V1 and take to the road. In Nevada it is not that difficult to find flat, straight, desolate highways.

You're going to need a lot more than two miles to really get the speed up there - starting at about 75, 1 mile of flat gets you to 140, then a mile of downhill gets you to ~157. At least, that's what I've heard...

No speed-limiter in the S2000, but the gearing/redline will limit you to 160mph. Though, if you find a hill long and steep enough, then the cut-out will not intervene untill about 166mph.
ps. The newer your tyres, the higher the speed you can reach as those extra few millimiters or rubber that they could have will help add extra couple of mph to the top speed.
