is there a way to get a top with the glass window.
i own a 2001 s2k and the plastic window's gettin heinously uglier

What I heard, to change it, you will have to change entire structure which may take up to 20hrs of labor. do a search on this. you may find some good threads.

I did mine. It cost about $950 total plus I had to install it. Takes about 10-12 hours for 1 person to remove/install the top. You don't need to replace the frame if you don't want to and you can modify it for about $30. I still have been unmotivated to install the defroster though. I'll probably get more motivated when winter nears.

i guess i'd rather be spending a grand on something else now..

I got the top and defroster parts from hardtopguy. I also had to buy some rivets and other stuff to modify the top. The total price included shipping and all parts.

You might be able to find a glass soft top used if you look on ebay, etc... Then you could probably save a few hundred more.
