Default Touch Up Paint Question

To those of you who have used touch up paint to fill in nicks and chips, what were the results? Can you see the repaired spots. Does it blend well. I suppose these questions are directed more towards owners of New Formula Red.

thx.

There is an FAQ that describes how to repair paint chips. It works great, but it is an EXTREMELY tedious process.

I am working on one on my front bumper where some idiot hit me with a SUV. I have been layering the (Formula Red paint) and have built it up. I will use the Mcguires 2000 grit sanding block on the weekend. It will look OK but I didn't use primer since it was plastic and the red didn't cover the black plastic that was exposed as good as it would have covered a base of primer.
When it is done it will most likely be a 7.5 out of 10. It is right next to the license plate and will not be that noticeable so I am leaving it for now.
I got the money form the insurance and if I can't live with it I will reluctantly get the bumper painted. I think I am better off waiting until the next moron hits me then I will take it in for the pro's to do it. I hate to loose my original factory paint though.
If you have Chipaway in your area I hear they are good at blending in paint for small dings. If it in a high visibility area you might be better off getting it done professionally.
Hope this helps a little.

Among other things, I've found the Silverstone touchup paint is WAY too dark. I'm going to see if I can do better with some aftermarket shades of silver.
