That ASM is rather stealth compared to the J's.

to hit something solid (like a wall), the impact will no longer be distributed over the relatively expendable bumper and instead will be focused on a small (but admittedly strong) part of the frame.
Thats a crazy good point

If you like it than do it. Not my cup of tea, but do it anyway.

I like the idea of using it as a bumper saver, although if you are unfortunate to hit something solid (like a wall), the impact will no longer be distributed over the relatively expendable bumper and instead will be focused on a small (but admittedly strong) part of the frame.
Those suburban housewives with the big SUV bull bars were finding that out as well... those protect your bumper... at the expense of transmitting the damage to your frame directly and not allowing the bumper and the crumple zones to absorb the impact. If your seat is bolted to the frame... and the frame takes the first blow... you might as well be bolted to the bull bar....

I've got the J's Type S body kit. I chose NO tow hooks. My reasons:

- would have to have cut my bumper
- didn't like the look
- not necessary, i'm so low that if I go into a ditch, i'm screwed all around anyways
- because I'm so low, hopefully stop a tow truck from attempting to tow me when I'm at fault
