Traded in the S :-(
I decided to trade in my baby 2001 Grand Prix White S2000 with hardtop for a 2004 G35 Black Obsidian Coupe 6 speed. I am not sure if it was the right thing to do or if I will regreat it but I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for all of the info I have received from this web site. I will still be reading it everyday and see how everyone continues the debate over the 2004 S.
Part of the reason I traded it in was due to the fact that it got hit in the front, needed new tires and back wheel ( too close to a curb) but mostly the fact that I learned stick on it and the clutch was a little beat. I did get 21,200.00 for it w the hardtop, not great but could have been worse up hear in CT especiall sine the Infiniti dealers are not very forth coming w the 2004 G35 6 speeds.
Unfortunetly I brought it back in today to have the dealer detail it and now the car has scratches and 2 gouges on the hood, door handle and trunk and since it is black it shows everything. Not Good and I hope they own up to it and take care of it for me since the car only has 500 miles on it. Oh, and by the way the painting process they use does create quite a bit of orange peel as everyone has said.
Thanks again for everything
Mike

Most companies process on painting has peeled many cars, don't worry about that. As far as regretting the trade, I doubt it cause the car handles good enough and has good speed although you will miss certain things that only the S offers. Enjoy and post when you can, hopefully mods will follow shortly!!!
I got the G35 for 36,400.00 which was sticker, not much wiggle room on the 2004 prices. They know if you say no some one else will buy epecially the 6 speed. I love he car and the radio is really good for a factory unit. But TriaXenginE is right, I'll miss having the top down as this is my first fixed roof car. I just hope I can keep up with cleaning and maintaing the look, black is a very hard color to keep up with.
Congratulations on your new purchase! I'm sure you were sad to see the S go (I HOPE you were sad, at least!) but I guess sometimes we grow out of our cars, ne? Good luck and please do keep on visiting. ^_^

BAH! Well, we're always sorry to lose an S2K enthusiast, but the G35 is a nice car (my wife has a 2003 sedan).
As an FYI, she also has black and has heard MANY complaints on her chatroom (www.g35driver.com) that Infiniti paint is notoriously soft. She actually has the manufacturers clear-coat protectant (can't remember the name off hand), and they gaurantee the paint for 3 years with this twice a year application. Might be worth looking in to to keep that black shining bright...
Best of luck with it! Enjoy!
