i love the s2k / 2001/ but hate the trans from park to 1st , 1st to 2nd,2nd to 3rd seems ok. it shakes , grinds, dies, and seems like the clutch is inconsistant. the dealer says they are all that way. no warranty repair. The same with the back window, it is bending and fogging, the car is 6 mos old, with 1600 miles,

any suggestions ??

The back window does require some attention. You need to protect the well in which it rests when it is in there - see "Muz Mat" or put a soft cloth of some kind in there. The plastic itself breathes over time and gets foggy. Most plastics do this. You need to clean and polish it with something like "Plexus". As for the tranny, I'm not sure what you mean by "park". Only automatics have park. You must be referring to the infamous gear grinds. Some people experience this while others do not. Sometimes it depends on your driving style and skill (rushing the shift too much or forcing it into gear imprecisely or not having the clutch fully depressed or a combination of these). If yours is intolerable, take it to your dealer to get it looked at. They have TSB's (tech service bulletins) on these and may do a fix out of good will.
