Transmission fluid less than 1.7 qts?

Default Transmission fluid less than 1.7 qts?

I have my car up on four jacksgtands. emptied the fluid. put in new fluid but can only get in about 1.25 qts before it starts to overfill. what am i doing wrong?

If the floor is level you should be able to squeeze in about 1.5 or so quarts. I usually jack it up from the drivers side (and use a jackstand), fill it as much as possible (usually about 1.75 quarts) . . . then jack it back down and let the excess drain out and then cap it.

Make sure your ground is level, the tranny does not take much fluid so you don't want to leave some out.

I like to jack the passanger side higher to drain as much old fluid out, then I jack the drivers side up to overfill as much as I can. I can squeeze close to 2 quarts in.

Don't you think Honda would have moved the fill hole further up if they deemed it necessary to have more capacity...?
