Default Trim Seal Leak

It's pouring out right now and i'm wondering if anybody else experiences this. My top is leaking where the soft top meets the windshield frame, at the corner right by the striker. There are two slots in that weather stripping that should catch the rain, but instead, it lets it by and it dribbles down to the window trim and eventually goes into the door. This is NOT normal obviously. I'm trying to fix it, but to no avail. My 94 miata w/ 133k on the original seals leaked less than that. This is a 00 that i bought w/ 8400 miles, a week ago. Shin-etsu grease is on it's way.

Digression:
A phone call I had with Plaza Auto Honda Dealership in Brooklyn, NY
ME: Hi, Parts Department?
THEM: Yea, what can i do for ya?
ME: Do you have any Shin-etsu grease in stock?
THEM: WHAT?!
ME: Shin Etsu Grease...
THEM: Hold on... HELLO? You want some what?
ME: Shin Etsu Grease, its for conditioning the rubber seals...
THEM: What is it?
ME: SHIN ETSU Grease!
THEM: WHAT?!
ME: SHIIIIIIIN ET SU Grease..
THEM: GO to a chinese restaurant!
ME: GAH!! Thanks! *click*

Shin Etsu is company that make - among other things - silicone grease.

You can get equivalents from auto shops or, as I found out, pool shops. It is a white silicone based grease used where two rubber or plastic parts need to seal but not stick.

Were you able to fix this problem ever. I have the same issue on my 03 but I am not sure if it is related to rain. In my case I think its condensation and the water just collects in the rubber tubing that seals the windows. . . Am not sure how to fix it, so any suggestion would be appreciated.

Thanks

Trying the grease may only be a first step. If this doesn't work, you should consider getting the heavy duty windshield strikers that came with hardtops. You would only need this if you have an '00 or '01. For later models, I believe they already came with the HD strikers and you're last option would be to adjust the window itself so it closes more tightly against the rubber seal. There are guides inside the door that can be adjusted slightly to do this. Not something you want to try unless you are really handy and have the Helm manual.

Mine does it to. The water also actually builds up in the soft top seal part where it bends. When I shut my door after a heavy rain, it splashes in onto me.
