Search in marketplace, search in your local region club forum, search the thread called "chicago prices". As someone else said above, you can find an '03 for $30K, even less. You can find '02's for $29K (PA dealership advertised in Autoweek and saw one post here to that effect in W NY).

So, an '01 for really $5K less than a new one, nearly out of warranty, 30K mi, (as with all used) unknown history. A reasonable price, but I'd get new. Well, I guess that's why used prices are dropping.

And if I were you, I'd call the dealership, name the salesman, say what he did (dangerous driving) and said. And tell them they lost a sale because of it. Man these lying SOB's really burn me up ...

You could do better.

I got mine for $30,000 before TT&L. Was somewhere around $32,000 out the door.

35000 out the door with TT&L absolute tops. Preferably less. Many dealers are selling below sticker, so if you find someone who won't, walk away...... Being in MD, you may consider a drive to another state, where they have snow right now, and see if you can help a dealer, by taking it off his hands at a fair price..... good luck!

If you want intelligent, informed answers from salesman, take a trip to Jim Coleman Honda and talk with Andy or Jackie. They are both S2000 owners and both members on the board.

You aren't just paying $10,000 for a few 'upgrades' on a car.... You're paying $10,000 for a car that is 2-3 model years NEWER, and has 0 miles on it, as opposed to 20k.
