How about the fact that the 6-speed tranny is heralded as the best production gearbox in existence? Minus the 2nd gear grind of course...hehe. Knocking the Miata gearbox off it's high-horse was no small feat, it's a beauty.

Wow, that one post pretty much summarizes most of the conversations on this board.

Nothing I can disagree with there, except #24 (silver is the best color for everything )

I WAS thinking about this for an item-- tell me what you think:

##) Some people think the S2K gets "Chicks". Well, much like your resume doesn't get you a job, it only gets you in the door, the S2K might help you get in the door, but its up to you to "seal the deal".

Only reason this came to mind was the various topics of "Getting chicks with my XXXX (car)"...

Dunno if it belongs there...prolly not kinda trashy. Dunno. Opinions?

Actually I think the grey metallic is the best color.

I think you worry too much about how fast the car can go...

The top is made of vinyl and we all knew that before we bought it.

I wouldn't drive a 'so done' boxter if I was given one nor the the BMW Z.

The beauty of this car is that it is not seen so often.......and it is a beautiful car.........

If you love cars.....you will love this one.........I come from a Nascar family...and I love this car.

Yes ...the cornering is great....the take off is not that great.......but the stretch is incredible. But I am just a girl...what the heck do I know anyway?

I just know that I love being in a car that is not on every corner when I happen to get a red light.......I love the way that if I am at a light.....everyone is looking at MY car !!!!!!!!!!

I could be in a Boxter or a Mercedes right now........but that is SOOOOO Done........!!!!!!!!!!! I have people queueing up just to take a ride for gosh sake!!!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy what you have.....for it is different !!!!!!!!!

I am from the racing side of Nascar......I grew up at the race track and my Uncle raced when the Daytona race was on the BEACH !!!!!!!!!!!! I know Nascar has it's connotations.......but all in all........we just love cars. That's why we got into it in the first place.

Enjoy your ride.........

Interestingly enough... my truck (2001 Sporttrack) ALSO has pits (albiet not as bad)... I attribute this to Texas roads. My truck has only seen Texas highways for work communite only... And since it sits up high, you wouldn't expect this as much.... alas, it also has pits. Dunno what we can do about it... I DO know this:

When I was a kid, I used to work in a body-shop (a "CHEAP" one..can you say Earl Shives $99 paint job, complete?). I was the detailer..the boy who cleaned off all of overspray. We FREQUENTLY used SOFT steel wool on windows to clean overspray. Before getting my windshield replaced, I tried this on my s2k. It scratched the hell out of the pitted windshield. This technique should have worked and didn't. We DO have a very soft windshield... expect pits.

I STRONGLY urge ALL S2K owners to get their insurance "Windshield deductable" (Glass deductable) dropped as low as possible. In the past for $5 extra bucks, the Glass was FULLY convered (100%). If you have this option, please consider it seriously.
