There's lots of room in the trunk anyway.

I ditched my spare tire and put a four channel Phoenix Gold amp and a can of fix-a-flat there. Put a JL 10" in the tire well. It does pretty well, I still have plenty of room for everyday use. I also have a (temporary) FAPA luggage rack I use for trips, last summer we took the S on a ten day vacation to the beach with no problems, of course we did not have any extra room, but that also meant that my wife could not go shopping because no additional items would fit in the car. It was worth it to cruise around in that car.

I had an RSX-S before the S, I was really proud of myself for buying such a practical car, but after driving it for six months I realized that the only thing I ever carried around in the hatch was my gym bag and my briefcase. I had the RSX for a whole year and exactly ZERO people rode in the back seat.

Also, my wife and I take the S to the grocery store every week because her GS-R is always too crammed full of worthless junk to be useful (she is a girl, after all). As long as we don't buy anything too large (i.e. 100 lb bag of dog food or 75 pack of toilet paper) it works fine.
