Trunk Noise
For the past few months, I have noticed something wierd when I shut the trunk. About 20-30 seconds after I close the trunk, I hear a metallic thud. It almost sounds like the metal like a piece of tupperware or rubbermaid popping back into place after the trunk lid is shut. I've tied shutting it easily, shutting it hard. No matter, 30 seconds later it sounds like the metal is popping back into place.
Anyone else experience this? Any ideas? Thanks.

Several peeps have had this, including me. Don't know how you would search for the threads (thud?), and their ancient. Mine stopped doing it, which poked a big hole in most of the theories. Most peeps think it has something to do with the rods that make the trunk unlock. Apparently there is some plastic piece that keeps them together and when it's lost, they take a while to release their bend??? Anyway, mine went away. Don't worry about it, but if you find out what is causing it...please post it. Thanks

I had my metal rods that go accross the back hangup and after a few minutes they would spring loose from one another. They adjusted the trunk lid tension and wrapped the rods in foam to fix the problem.
