Whenever I open the trunk, there would be a popping noise, the vibrations can also be felt through the trunk.
I decided to figure out what the issue was and found out the trunk rods (not sure of the proper name) would rub upon opening the trunk. I've attached a video of the issue.

Anyone know of a solution to fix this? Are the "rods' bent?

 

I had the same issue. Bent mine back into shape and haven't had a problem since.

 

Yes, the rod looks a little bent or stressed compared to what I see in my car. Will try to get photos tomorrow.

Are the end of the rod fitting into the holes in body ok? Don't look forced or bent?

 

I'm trying to see if the rods (or are they called trunk springs?) were improperly installed. I guess my last resort will have to be bending it though. Thanks.
