Default Trunk Popper not working

So the alarm that came with the car when I bought it is total crap, even with the sensitivity all the way down someone farting across the street will set it off. I turned the alarm off and now I'm using just the OEM remote however it seems that the trunk pop button should work and it doesnt. The button in the glove box does but not the key fob. Anyone have any idea on any easy solutions and if not where I should even start to troubleshoot this before going to the Helm?

TIA

This may be a painfully obvious suggestion, but are you holding the button for a few seconds? It takes about three on my car.

Nope, I just push it once, like a momentary switch. I'll give the holding it down for a few seconds a shot when I go out later. Thanks for the tip.

You have to hold it down for a second or two. Its like those for most cars.

The idea is to keep the trunk closed if you bump the button by accident.

Makes sense to me, my trunk pop on the Prelude is off my alarm so thats probably why it doesnt work the same.

That dang button is on the same spot for my home alarm key fob. I have pressed the panic button about 4 times now, which also has to be held. It helps to look at the button you press too
