Thumbs down trunk rods

Need your help guys....

I installed my CF trunk lid and all is well except I forgot that because my OEM trunk had a wing spoiler on it, the trunk had the stronger rods. Well it's too much and it's putting an ever so slight bow on the edges of my trunk when closed.

You all know how I'm a perfectionist so your help in removing the rods is appreciated.

Pull them off huh?.......hmmm.......sounds painful....... anyone else?

My CF trunk did not come with the key hole thank goodness.... it looks clean as hell with the brake light. I just use the remote to access the trunk.

I'm really trying to hold off until my project is completed before posting pics but PM me your email and I'll send you some of the fitments. I was really surprised how well they fit.

I'm VERY happy.

As far as removing the rods, check out H and A Accessories and scroll down to you find the "trunk spring remover / reinstaller." They show a price of $26.80.

FWIW!

Good luck,
Steve R.

Just use a damn screwdriver and bead them out of the mounts. Should take all of about 30 seconds to remove them. You don't need any special tool.
