Default The truth about the S2000 max load

So I have this friend that is a pretty hefty guy, about 325 lbs. I weight about 185 pounds, so together our total weight is somewhere around 510 lbs.

Now I was reading the manual and it says something about a max load of 400 lbs.

So I’m wondering, if I do some long distance driving with both of us in the car, am I risking any damage to my car?

Thanks in advance!

i have more than 400 pounds all the time. I weigh 250 myself.

When I read the owner's manual it said not to load more than 400 b/c it will alter the characteristics of the car. Not that the car will stop working altogether

Would a 325 pound guy want to take a road trip in the S2000? You can each pitch in $20 and rent a car....

well its just 1.5 hrs each way. Not a "road trip" in the classic sense.

So i dont have to worry about screwing up the car!?

I did 8hr+ roadtrips in the S2000 back when I was 300+. Additionally, I had 60lbs of rollbar, 150+lbs of jacks, tools, spare tire, etc. It's really not that big a deal. Just make sure your friend drives so he doesn't get DVT
