TSB= Trouble that Shouldnt BE!!
Well Im comming up on the 36 mos mark and I figured I get all my little problems corrected before the warranty expires next month. One of my complaints was constant buzzing from the center console which resulted in tsb/clutch replacement.
Unfortunatly, i picked up the car at closing time. As im driving out i notice the steering wheel is cocked at 5ish. First thought is they curbed the car and knocked the alignment out of whack while test driving it. Then im thinking a tech, a real tech wouldnt just leave it like that, so what gives.
I call my buddy at a different dealer and tell him the story to which he faxes to me page 13-71 from the tech manuel showing the removal of the steeing joint when removing the tranny.
the next day I go back to the dealer and tell them about the cocked steering wheel and he goes to talk with the tech.
He returns and I quote" the tech said there is no way the steering was touched on a rear wheel drive and the customer is trying to get a free alignment." I pull out the page from the tech manuel and show him, he disapears for 5 minutes.
He returns and states the head tech agrees with me, but the correct way to fix it is to realign the car. Most people would be delighted, but my alignment is perfect, the tires are wearing evenly at 17k miles. Also, if they adjust the front turnbuckles to compensate, one side will have much less threaded area centered in the turnbuckle.
Anyway they agree to realign the steering shaft 1 time only as they feel an alignment is the correct way. Of course the wheel is still off, but my buddy from the other dealer told me when he's down next time hell fix it for me.
The moral of the story: I have always beleived there is no free lunch, and the origional excitement i had from getting a free clutch, a wear item no less, has been over come by the feeling my car was violated.
I guess It time to turbo charge as i wont be going back to the dealerany time soon!!!!!
Just venting, thanks for listening

hahahahahahahahahahaha.. That is too funny.. I have had this sh!t happen to me twice now. I thought I was the only one that this had happened to. Stupid dealers. I talked to the dealer owner's wife and told her that this has happened not once, but TWICE to me. It is still messed up right now. I don't want to take it back to them in fear of them messing up my car. I could go on and on about this but there is nothing you can do about stupid dealers. You just have to locate another one or deal with it (inspect your car everytime you get it back infront of a tech.) I hate dealers but love them too.. I was also told "No way did we screw up your steering wheel when we fixed your clutch".. I told them "Uh.. Yes you did," went home and got the service book and took it back to prove it to them. WTF??
