Default steering wheel centering

i had my steering wheel centered by the dealer because it was couple degrees off when driving on a flat/straight road. i believe tie rods were adjusted to center it. after a month or so, steering wheel went back to what i have stated with. i need to know WHY steering wheel will not stay centered.

possible causes i thought of are:
1. crappy city roads
2. bad tie rods

please help~! its driving nuts.

eh its called alignment.. you need to have it done every once in awhile. The steering wheel is not off center.. the wheels are just not pointing where they should. The dealer should not have just adjusted the tie rods to center the wheel without using an alignment machine.

had my steering wheel pulled and recentered when my car was about a year old cause it was off center...
dealer did it under warranty and its been fine ever since-

i would have done it, but i had understood (from posts on this board) that its not an easy process without a wheel puller...

----------
from looking at the helms manual (which i didnt have then), i dont see how pulling the wheel works to align it- now am wondering if the service tech at the dealer did not really know what he was talking about! (maybe they actually adjusted it at the rack guide??)

Yeah...the service manager feed you a line of BS. They adjusted it at the tie rods as with any alignment...much easier to do that way.

I do not understand. Is the car pulling to one side? Or are you going straight and the "H" in the wheel is angled?

car is not pulling. car drives staight but H is crooked.

update: just corrected my tire pressures. made it bit better.

corvette owner told me that alignment easily go bad since i live in a city. is that true?
